# A nearby knee visit should be easy to return to

*Local Visits for Non-surgical Knee Treatment Phoenix*

> Plan a non-surgical knee treatment Phoenix visit from west Phoenix, downtown, Maryvale, Arcadia, Biltmore, or Ahwatukee.

After a long drive, your knee may be stiffer than it was at home. That makes the office and return trip worth considering before you book. Phoenix spreads across many neighborhoods, so one clinic won’t be equally close to everyone.

Here are the roads and addresses that may help.

## The Banner Estrella office is on Thomas Road in west Phoenix

The Banner Estrella office is at 9305 W. Thomas Rd., Suite 460, Phoenix, AZ 85037. It is near the medical area around 91st Avenue and Thomas Road. From Maryvale or Estrella Village, Thomas Road offers a direct drive without using the freeway, which may feel easier on a stiff knee than a trip requiring several turns. You can judge the drive by the time of day and the walk from your car.

The address is within Phoenix.

## Downtown and central Phoenix drivers usually take I-10 west

From downtown or central Phoenix, the usual drive goes west on I-10, the Papago Freeway, before turning north from 91st Avenue toward Thomas Road for the clinic. Traffic may change the travel time from one hour to the next. If you’re planning a return visit, you can allow for parking and the walk indoors. A long walk from the car can be just as important as the drive.

Your knee gets a vote in the travel plan.

## The Scottsdale office may shorten some east-side trips

Arcadia and the Biltmore are near Phoenix’s eastern edge. People in Ahwatukee also often travel toward the East Valley for care. For some of these trips, the Scottsdale office on East Mountain View Road may be closer than west Phoenix. You’ll be able to compare both drives before choosing an office. A useful clinic is one you can reach again without a tiring ride each time.

The return trip matters too.

## Phoenix knee care is spread across the city

An already sore knee may stiffen during a long ride. With more than five hundred square miles across Phoenix, one neighborhood’s handy clinic may be awkward for another. West-side visits often center on 91st Avenue and Thomas Road, while east-side residents may find Scottsdale easier.

You’ll want a trip you can repeat without strain.

The Banner Estrella office is at 9305 W. Thomas Rd., Suite 460, Phoenix, AZ 85037. From central Phoenix, I-10, the Papago Freeway, leads west toward 91st Avenue. Thomas Road gives Maryvale and Estrella Village another approach. Before booking, you can compare that trip with the Scottsdale location on East Mountain View Road.

OARSI 2019 designates arthritis education plus structured land-based exercise (with or without dietary weight management) as CORE treatments for knee OA, and education plus structured land-based exercise as core for hip and polyarticular OA. Topical NSAIDs are strongly recommended for knee OA (Level 1A). Intra-articular corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid are Level 1B/2 for knee OA depending on comorbidity and are NOT recommended for hip or polyarticular OA. Oral NSAIDs are not recommended for people with cardiovascular comorbidity or frailty, and oral and transdermal opioids are strongly not recommended (Level 5).

The 2023 ACR/AAHKS timing guideline conditionally recommends AGAINST delaying hip or knee arthroplasty to pursue additional non-operative treatment - physical therapy, NSAIDs, ambulatory aids or intra-articular injections - in patients with moderate-to-severe osteoarthritis for whom non-operative therapy has already been ineffective and who have chosen surgery. It conditionally recommends delay for nicotine cessation and for better glycemic control in diabetes, states that obesity by itself is not a reason for delay while weight loss should be strongly encouraged, and conditionally recommends against delay in patients with severe deformity or bone loss. ## When soreness doesn’t ease, you can ask about a clinic visit

At QC Kinetix, a consultation can cover regenerative treatment options, meaning clinic procedures that use material prepared from your own body, for knee soreness. Platelet-rich plasma, called PRP, is one option. Staff draw some of your blood, spin it to gather the platelet-rich part, and prepare it for the knee procedure. A medical provider, meaning a trained clinic staff member, examines your knee and returns that prepared part to the sore joint.

You’re welcome to ask what the procedure involves, what relief may be realistic, and what it will cost. The exam may also show that other care would fit you better.

The Banner Estrella office is at 9305 W. Thomas Rd., Suite 460. One number serves the area: (602) 837-PAIN. A visit can’t promise a result, and you needn’t choose treatment that day.
